My subscription to Pirates Magazine ran out some time ago, probably close to 18 months ago. I have called several times about renewing it and playing catch up with the missed issues and have either left a message or I have spoken with someone and was told the person I would need to talk to would call me back. I've never received that call back. I sent an email on the morning of the 15th and here it is, three (3) business days later and I have not received a reply. Is there a reason that my calls/emails to subscribe and obtain the issues that I have missed are not being answered?
I am using this forum as a last resort to renew. Your magazine is great and the history in it is fantastic. I just wish I could continue to receive it.
Thank You for your help, Jim M.

Well then. I did my latest and last email to sarah@piratesmagazine.com on 2/15/10 and did my original post here on the same date. I edited it on 2/17 and it is now the 19th with no response to either my email or my forum posting. Guess I should not have expected more after waiting for a phone call for the last 18 months or so to renew.
I guess my subscription is not wanted.
Best of luck to Pirates Magazine and your subscribers.
P.S. I checked my "Spam" folder just in case. No reply there either. |

| Sorry you've had problems, mate. I had a few hiccups in my subscription too, a while back, but everything got smoothed out eventually. But in my experience it can take a little while sometimes, so my advice here is to hold out just a tad longer! Don't abandon ship yet! |

Thanks for the kind words Captain McCool.
Jim, Sarah Packer takes care of subscriptions. I'll e-mail her for you and make sure you are taken care of right away. Sorry for the trouble.

Thank you Dave and Captain McCool. It's comforting, in a stange way, to know that I am not the only one that has had "concerns" with their subscriptions in the past. I do admit that I did not persue this with the vigor I usually do, but it was not for the lack of wanting to. Just figured that with a few phone messages and emails, I would hear back. Hopefully I am the one that "fell between the cracks" and that this can be resolved and I can catch up, and continue, with this great magazine.
I look forward to hearing from Sarah in either an email or phone call.
Thank You for all your effort. -Jim |

Still trying to resolve this. Its been 4 weeks since I first posted this issue and I am no further along. I did receive a phone call from Sarah on 3/8 that she had some questions for me regarding my subscription. I called her back, left a message, sent an email and called again about a week ago with no replies. Needless to say, I am about to hoist the white flag and simply move on.
All I ever wanted was clarrification that if I sent in my funds equal to my missed year or two, plus for 2010 that I would be sent the issues I missed and that I was good for 2010. Never realized it was so difficult to spend my reales.
Sorry for being so pessimistic, but I think you can understand my frustation with this whole thing. |

| Been nearly a month since I posted and no phone call, email or even a follow posting from someone who can help. I just called and left yet another voicemail. Hopefully with my final call, I can get a response. |

Ahoy Jim,
So sorry for the problems you've been having. Spoke to Kim Cross at the home office in Baltimore this morning about subscription problems and yours in particular. She assures me that she is on it. The entire Pirates magazine team was at Fells Point for Privateer Day and the Devil's Dozen contest. They are just now getting back to the day-to-day grind. If for any reason you continue to have problems, please e-mail me directly at:
Dave@piratesmagazine.com.

Kim emailed me yesterday and was very energetic in her emails to resolve this matter and finally put it to rest. We exchanged emails and will be talking on monday to finish up everything and finally get me up to date.
THANK YOU!! |

Well, shiver me timbers!
I just got off the phone with Kim, one of the nicest ladies I have had the pleasure of speaking with on the phone. She picked up the ball and ran with it for a touchdown. I am pleased to report that the issues I was dealing with have been resolved and I am back on board. It took awhile, but getting to speak with Kim and getting this taken care of was easy and painless and I do appreciate her.
Now that this thread has gone full circle and has come to a close, should the powers to be feel the want to remove it, it can vanish, as my problem has. I just wanted to post the follow-up that all is well and given enough time, any problem can be worked out.
Thanks again Kim, you are a very special lady. All my best!! |
